It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the renewed online website of the National Guard (http://www.army.gov.cy).
Welcome address / Orders of the Day / Vision / Quotes / Twitter
Thanks to the efforts of our predecessors, at all levels, and with the unreserved support and trust of the Political and State Authorities of the Republic, the National Guard succeeded, in its short history, to create the prerequisites for becoming a National Power Pillar and to win, as an Institution, a high place in the appreciation of the Cypriot Citizens.
As we are going through a particularly fluid period, in terms of geopolitical developments, particularly difficult in terms of available resources, but especially at a time when values are being hit, we are called upon to create and maintain those operational capabilities that will make National Guard capable of responding to the operational requirements in such a way as to ensure its role as an institution of the State and the accomplishment of its operational mission, namely the deterrence or the address of any conventional as well as any other asymmetric threat. This time characterized by a multiple crisis, we are called upon to manage and turn it into an opportunity. This period is also characterized by increased requirements for validated and upgraded information.
The National Guard, aware of and responding to these new and diverse needs for information, exploits the potentials of technology and hopes that this web site will be a source of our daily communication. To be an area of timely and valid information on the issues concerning the National Guard and its personnel as well as the work it performs.
Through this website selected activities of the Formations and Units as well as events and actions from the international activity of the National Guard will be presented.
The upgrade effort will be continuous and gradually this site will be enriched with functional tools as well as useful information about the daily routine of our staff. In this context, your suggestions and ideas are welcome.
