Lieutenant General Costas Chrysiliou was born on October 03rd 1959 and comes from Diorios of the Kyrenia district.
He graduated from the Kykkos Men’s High School and then entered the Hellenic Military Academy Evelpidon in 1977, and he graduated in 1981 as a Second Lieutenant of Research and Informatics.
He has successfully attended all of the training schools dedicated on his Corps, as well as the Parachute School and the Electronic Warfare School. He had studied at the Military Aviation School and he is a helicopter pilot. He is a graduate of the Greek Army War College and the National Defence College of Greece.
During his military career he has served as the Commander of Subunits, as well as Research and Informatics units, and at the Helicopter - Aircraft Squadron. He has served as the Commander of the Research and Informatics Command of the NG. He also served as the Director of Public Relations at the NGGS, Chief of Staff of the Second Infantry Division, Deputy Commander of the 4th Infantry Brigade, Director of the B’ Branch of the NGGS, Commander of the 7th Mechanised Infantry Brigade and Director of Reformation of the NGGS. From 07 March 2018, he is appointed as the Deputy Chief of the National Guard.
He has been honoured with all national medals – decorations of his rank and his services.
He is married and has a son and daughter.
