Participation of the National Guard in the exercise "CambrianPatrol"

For a second consecutive year, the National Guard participated with a patrol of commandos in the international exercise “Cambrian Patrol”, which took place between 11 and 20 of October 2019 in Wales, winning a silver medal.

“Cambrian Patrol” is an exercise which is designed to test all the necessary military skills of a modern soldier including: leadership, synergy, teamwork, as well as endurance and determination. An indication of the high degree of difficulty is the fact that one third of the participants failed to pass the exercise.

The exercise, which was directed and hosted by the 160 Welsh Brigade, had its 160th anniversary and 120 patrols participated from 34 countries.

The patrol of the 33rd Brigade of Commandos, deservedly represented the Republic of Cyprus and the National Guard winning this honorary place, which was a product of hard work and qualitative education from the Directorate of Special Forces.
