Affirmation Ceremony Of the Reserve Officers of the 2018 class
In the affirmation ceremony, which took place on August 20, 2019, in the Military Camp “CHRISTOS SAMARAS”, the Candidate Reserve Officers of the 2018 class were awarded the insignia for the rank of Second Lieutenant.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Ilias Leontaris, the Deputy Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Costas Chrysiliou, Formation, Command, and Tactical Group Commanders as well as family members of the newly promoted reserve officers.
The Candidate Reserve Officers of the 2018 class, after having been selected in the beginning of their military service as the most suitable candidates on the basis of their educational level, mental and physical health, character and ethos, followed a relevant training programme in Reserve Officers’ Training Centres in Greece.
Following their successful graduation from the above training centres they were appointed to their Units where they were tested as minor leaders on the relevant level of command. They accumulated experience and developed the required skills to be equipped as reserve officers with ultimate aim to upgrade the combat effectiveness and readiness of the Units of the National Guard.
In his address, the Chief of the National Guard, after congratulating the Reserve Second Lieutenants he urged them to stay in the family of the National Guard, to join the Reserve Officers’ Associations and stay in touch with their Units and Formations. Closing, the Chief of the National Guard wished them all the best in their lives.
