The Chief of National Guard Lieutenant General Ilias Leontaris and the Commander of Air Force Command Air Commodore Gavriil Pattichis, participated in the works of the 7th Air Power Conference that took place in Hellenic Air Force Academy’s facilities, between 15th and 16th of May, with subject “Airpower as a Strategic Factor in the Transition of Defence and Security”.
The opening of conference’s works was declared by the Minister of National Defence Mr. Evangelos Apostolakis and greetings were delivered by the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff General Christos Christodoulou and the Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General Georgios Blioumis.
In the frame of the Conference, the Chief of NG and the Commander of Air Force Command, had a fruitful discussion about issues of mutual interest with the Leaders of Hellenic Armed Forces and the speakers of the conference, among them the Ambassador of USA based in Greece Mr. Geoffrey R. Pyatt, the Commander of ΝΑΤΟ Allied Air Command Lieutenant General Jeffrey L. Harrigian, the Commander of Israeli Air Force Major General Amikam Norkin, the Deputy Chief of Staff of Joint Force Command based in Naples Rear Admiral Gilles Humeau, the UN Military Adviser for Peacekeeping Operations Lieutenant General Carlos Humberto Loitey, the Professor of International Relations in University of Macedonia Mr Ilias Kouskouvelis and the Head of European Security and Defence College Mr Dirk Dubois.
